LP ---- JPY

A legendary live performance by Tin Pan Alley, led by Haruomi Hosono, held on May 8, 1976, at “Tong Fa Shin Kan,” a long-established Chinese restaurant in Yokohama’s Chinatown—just before the release of their 1975 album *Tropical Dandy* and prior to the release of their 1976 album *Tai’an Yanghang*. The audio recording, which meticulously captures the atmosphere of that night, has been revived as a “stereo mix” after half a century. The stereo version of the legendary “Chinatown Live” performance, discovered after 50 years, is finally here! First-ever LP release!!! Congratulations.

On May 8, 1976, just before the band embarked on their “Tropical” trilogy and right before the release of *Tropical Dandy*, a superb live recording from the legendary Chinese restaurant “Tong Fa Shin Kan” in Yokohama’s Chinatown—the perfect setting—has been released on vinyl LP! Based on a newly discovered stereo master, engineer Tsuyoshi Hodo has created a new mix and mastering. The soundscape is superb, allowing you to feel the atmosphere and immediacy of that era. And the MC segments will make you smile. Every song is fantastic, but the transition from the brilliant band introductions to “Bolero” and then into “Hurricane Dorothy” is incredibly stylish. The performance of “Firecracker”—recorded on the eve of the YMO project—brought tears to my eyes. The LP includes liner notes by Yoshiro Nagato.
