London avant-garde vocalist Martha Skye Murphy, who released her previous record on the same label, teams up with New Zealand experimental guitarist Roy Montgomery — two artists who have crossed paths before as group members and guest performers — for their first full-length collaboration, out on London's experimental frontline label AD 93. Fantastical ambient with a sweet, unsettling atmosphere that evokes old folk tales. A step outside of reality.

Martha Skye Murphy is a London-based experimental vocalist who, at the age of nine, sang on a film score composed by Nick Cave and later contributed backing vocals to a Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds album. Roy Montgomery is a veteran guitarist and key New Zealand figure who has collaborated with drone-folk great Grouper and left his mark on important labels such as Kranky, Discreet Music, and Aguirre. These five tracks emerged from a recording process resembling correspondence between two distant lands. Ethereal guitar drones and piano intertwine symphonically with a voice treated like just another instrument, sounding from a place before meaning — a late-night ambient record with a listening feel all its own. Mary Lattimore, one of today's finest harpists, guests on one track. (Original Japanese text by Adachi)
