LNS—aka LAURA SPARROW—has been active alongside JAYDA G as part of the Vancouver underground collective GENERO, and since her debut on 1080P, she has been leading the scene as part of the “SEX TAGS” family. Her exploration of acid music during a period focused on acquiring new studio equipment and honing her technical skills is now presented in a two-part series! “Alive Acid” (sample 1), the only track in this series to feature a crisp, even sound, pairs high-pitched synthesis with a raw, emotional melody. “Gentle Acid” (sample 2), among others, showcases meticulous programming through the syncopation of acid and drums. The drums shift between fragmented breakbeats and the familiar sounds of the Roland TR-606 and TR-808.
