This album features the legendary jazz player BYARD LANCASTER (1942–2012), a Philadelphia-born saxophonist and flutist who was also a versatile musician capable of playing a wide range of instruments . The album spans a wide range, from the opener “Just Test”—featuring not only his exceptional saxophone playing but also a funk track brimming with the energy of the band’s ensemble—to the more subdued “Work And Pray,” which incorporates elements of blues and soul. His high level of expressiveness, skillfully manipulating nuances, conveys a sincere engagement with the melodies.
