Recorded during the height of the Italo movement—from the late ’70s to the early ’80s—this release features the music of FRANCISCO D’ARGENTO, reissued with the cooperation of his family. From CLAPTRAP—which hadn’t released any physical releases for a while, even after their previous hit JOHANNES KLINGEBIEL, which is still a hit at our store—comes a new release already! This reissue carefully restores and remasters a hidden gem that had been overlooked in the history of Italian disco, sourced directly from the original 1/2-inch tape. This straight-ahead Italo track, brimming with melancholy, features a raw, blossoming melody layered with FRANCISCO D’ARGENTO’s own bass vocals and the deep vocals of his wife and model, ELEANORA—all expertly reworked in a skillful remix. A particular highlight is the “Nello Spazio Mix” (sample 1) by DR VALENTINE, which boldly slows down the tempo and skillfully transforms the track into a hypnotic, alternative disco tune.
