A longtime steady seller at our shop — ANADOL, the psychedelic synth-folk project of Turkish-born, Berlin-based sound artist/photographer Gozen Atila — sees its second album, originally a digital-only release in 2017, newly reconstructed and pressed to vinyl by Pingpung!! Includes download code.

Following the 2019 third album "Uzun Havalar" and the latest album "Felicita" from 2022, the second album "Hatıralar," originally released in 2017, finally gets the long-awaited vinyl treatment.
Drawing heavily on the work of solitary outsider electronic musician Bruce Haack, and built on traditional Turkish pop and Middle Eastern arabesque folk song, it layers field recordings, vintage synthesizers manufactured in the '70s and '80s, and built-in preset rhythm box sounds à la Casiotone, all processed, edited and mixed with a keen sense of taste and timing. The result is a one-of-a-kind leftfield cosmic Arabic/Oriental exotic avant-experimental pop record — bewitching, warped and seductive, with introspection and celebration intertwined. The dubby, reggae-tinged atmosphere hits at just the right temperature, too. Essential for anyone who loves the previous Anadol releases on Pingpung, and equally a fine gateway for those who'd like to work backward through her catalogue — enjoy it however you please.
