The album takes Terry Callier's 1978 "Disco In The Sky" as raw material and lets the ideas run wild, spinning it into otherworldly dope disco across a series of mischievous themes — an homage to the classic 12-inch style, wrapped in experimentalism and a deep love of the format. Everything sits around 118 BPM. Highlights include A1 "DISCO IN THE SKY" (sample1), with magical, psychedelic, tricky synth work and wistful, soulful P-Funk disco boogie; the filtered, dubby dope house of A2 "GIRLS IN THE SKY" (sample2); the acid-tinged, dubwise, delightfully warped lo-house of A3 "ACID IN THE SKY" (sample3); the trippy, imaginary B3 "TRIPPING IN THE SKY"; the psychedelic, reverb-drenched dubby house of C1 "ONE MORE IN THE SKY"; the spacey Prophet synth solo piece B3 "PROPHET IN THE SKY"; the vocal poetry a cappella of D1 "KING SO SO IN THE SKY"; and D2 "CHOIR IN THE SKY," a beatless, highly experimental choir-only piece — 10 tracks in all.
