A new album from Madrid-based Suso Saiz, who came to Japan in 2024 and delivered an overwhelming performance!
The dazzling latest volume in the psychedelic picture-scroll passed down through the generations on the Iberian Peninsula. And being a Spanish-speaking artist, there's a natural affinity with South American psychedelia and its whole emotional world — plus, of course, Balearic bliss with wistfulness and sorrow drifting underneath. The concept behind this album:
"Thousands of living creatures crying out for their lives and for the future of their habitats. That clamor produces a distorted, deafening, incomprehensible noise. I tried to go deep inside that distortion, to understand every voice and to discover the strength and beauty within each one. That was the first image I had when I began composing 'Distorted Clamor.' Can distortion, and the sounds we normally discard, generate beauty? That question runs through the entire project." (SUSO SAIZ)
On top of that, he reportedly used water, wood and metal as filters and sound-transforming pedals, working without synthesizers and relying solely on acoustic sound.
