A sprawling electro-acoustic dub epic in which chopped-up, collaged piano and vocals swing unpredictably between frenzied electronics and quiet, beautiful keys. A collaboration between American composer/film producer KRISTEN PILON and DEMDIKE STARE, created as the OST for an experimental opera film. Like a dream within a dream — musique concrète rave drifting between the real and the unreal. Highly recommended!

The latest release on 〈DDS〉, the cutting-edge electronic music institution run by DEMDIKE STARE themselves. Taking piano performances and vocal material supplied by musician KRISTEN PILON, who also works in film, DEMDIKE STARE cut, edited and fused them with electronics into a collage-style experimental opera. Riotous electronics that surge forward without shying away from dissonance are set against static passages of piano, the two swapping places in unexpected ways with an improvisational feel close to collage works for tape loops. Rave, surrealism and psychedelia all coexist here, and though it's a soundtrack it reaches a three-dimensional expression that feels like a film in its own right — stunning. Already best-of quality for the first half of 2025, and hailed by some as a masterpiece within the DDS catalogue. Limited pressing! (Original Japanese text by Akie)
