A dark, dreamy nursery rhyme that drags you into the abyss. A concept album by Osaka-based singer-songwriter and guitarist Tokiyo and bassist orhythmo, another key figure in the Osaka underground scene.
Track List

It’s a little late after the release, but I just couldn’t give up, so I went straight to the two of them and managed to secure a copy!! This one-take album features five tracks created with the concept of reinterpreting nursery rhymes—rhyme-based children’s songs from the English-speaking world that have been passed down from parents to children since the late 18th century—from a dark perspective. I think Tokiyo’s vocals—with her naturally girlish voice—are showcased better here than in any of her previous releases. It evokes the feeling of childhood neurosis—or perhaps the hallucinations one might see while feverish as a child—with psychedelic elements created by repetitive lyrics and looping guitars, alongside anxiety-inducing noise and distortion. Let yourself sink into it. I highly recommend it.
The AI-generated music video is also excellent, so be sure to check it out as well. (Original Japanese text by AYAM)
