It's truly wonderful to be able to hear "Yume Nemi" (sample1) on a 7-inch single — a 1990 production arranged by Yuji Kawashima, keyboardist of the Kyoto band ep-4, essential figures in the history of Japanese new wave, and a pinnacle of dreamlike paradise Japanese surreal Balearic sound. It served as the image song for the Nissan Cefiro, whose commercials featuring Inoue himself ("O-genki desu ka~") took the nation by storm, and the grand, expansive music video is a must-see.
Also a delight is the inclusion of "Beni Suberi," an overlooked gem and a hidden treasure of oriental, Arabic-tinged cold funk by Yosui Inoue, available only on this analog release apart from the best-of compilation.
