He studied piano from childhood and favored the Yamaha KX8; as a teenager he immersed himself in the sounds of Tangerine Dream and Brian Eno, later gravitating toward electronic dance sounds like Depeche Mode and New Order. While attending the University of Michigan, he discovered the university-run local radio station WCBN and stepped into the world of techno in its formative years, drawn in by the music of pioneers like Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, Derrick May and Richie Hawtin coming out of that station. His passion for electronic music stirred, he created these recordings in the mid-1990s — born of exposure to a wide range of music including electro-pop, ambient, reggae and jazz, they're Balearic, proto-electronica, dreamy and gently ambient, fitting the present moment perfectly. 11 tracks included.
