Haruomi Hosono’s “Silk Road / Honey Moon”—a single released by Panam as a lead-up to his second album, *Tropical Dandy* (1975), the landmark first installment of his “Tropical Trilogy”—has been reissued on vinyl for the first time in half a century, 50 years after its original release! While “Silk Road” is fantastic, I’m absolutely thrilled to be able to hear “Honey Moon”—an exotic tropical-meets-folk-Japonesia masterpiece, made famous by Mac DeMarco’s iconic cover and featuring a delicate rhythm machine—on 7-inch vinyl.
