7inch ---- JPY

A masterpiece 7-inch from the Erobique project by Carten Meyer—the keyboardist for INTERNATIONAL PONY (a duo with DJ KOZE), a maverick who has released numerous mad, perverse disco tracks and composed music for German TV documentary films. Released by PHILOPHON, a renowned label at the forefront of Berlin’s current Afro scene. We’ve finally managed to restock this after a long time.

Erobique has released a new album via PHILOPHON featuring tracks recorded during a session at Joy Sound Studio in Ghana, where they teamed up with local musicians! !!
The A-side, “Mam Tola” (sample 1), is a wavering, melancholic track that drifts through Afro-soul, performed by a four-piece band featuring the artist himself on organ and synthesizer, along with guitar, drums, percussion, and Florence Adooni on vocals. The B-side, “Kumasi,” is a three-piece track featuring the artist on organ, synthesizer, and bass synthesizer, along with drums. It skillfully employs the Hammond organ’s “Extra Voice” ," and delivers a baroque, funky, and thrilling alternative session of a deep Kumasi-style drum-and-bass jam—the endearing and cool Afro-funk B-side “Bach In Afrika” (sample 2).
