Also included is the track from their sole 7-inch, "It Only Happened Once" (sample_1), released in 1983 on Cold Wave Records. These recordings were likely made in the '80s, and while the bulk of the set is modern soul/boogie with synths pushed right up front in true period-trend fashion, "Laura" (sample_2) alone is an old-school-style disco cut driven by groovy guitar and bass. The unevenness of the sonics, so well suited to the PPU aesthetic, is part of the charm too. Best of all are those vocals — woozy yet somehow full of gusto. (Original Japanese text by AYAM)
