Originally it was released simultaneously on Alston Records and Electric Cat, with different versions of "Dance To The Drummer's Beat" pressed on each. The former carried a 4:12 version, while the latter featured a longer 5:09 version with crowd noise and overdubbed percussion added to the intro. This MR BONGO edition, with its emphasis on B-boy culture, follows "Ultimate Breaks & Beats" and includes the classic Alston Records 4:12 version. (Confusingly, the back cover artwork of the Alston version lists the track length as 5:09 while the center label correctly states 4:12 — and that quirk has been faithfully reproduced here.)
