Tapes of a live recording made in New York City in April 2000 were discovered and mastered two decades later. An unedited, unprocessed raw document of the moment, crowd frenzy and all. A loving release on clear vinyl and limited cassette (!). Fans will be thrilled by three previously unreleased tracks (on the LP edition, one of them comes via download card). Includes a 3-foot (about 91cm) foldable poster depicting Daniel Johnston photographed in New York City. In stock.

A document of a full live set performed in New York City in April 2000. Kramer, who handled the recording, rediscovered a DAT tape marked only "NYC April 2000" twenty years later, and it was mastered for this landmark release. With no editing or processing whatsoever, the performance, the ecstatic audience response and the atmosphere of the night are packaged exactly as they were. It closes with an excerpt from a street interview with Daniel filmed in New York around the same period. Along with two previously unreleased tracks precious to fans, "Memory of Love" and "Super Love," there's the 18-minute "Telephone Demos" included on the download card (and on the cassette edition) — recordings Daniel, who had a deep love of the telephone, sent directly by phone to friends, fans and radio stations, offering a rare glimpse into his early creative work. Even while living with mental illness, the pure expression he needed in order to survive is moving no matter when you hear it. A lighthouse for all outsider and art brut music.
