GLOK is the electronic music project of the multi-talented Andy Bell—guitarist for RIDE and bassist for OASIS—who spanned the spectrum of UK rock from ’90s shoegaze to Britpop. A 12-inch compilation of remixes he’s created under this moniker is now available! He expands and reconstructs tracks by renowned artists such as FRANZ KIRMANN, STEVE QUERALT & MICHAEL SMITH, HERRMANN KRISTOFFERSEN, and SEAGOTH.
Track List
The set kicks off with a 2020 remix of FRANZ KIRMANN’s epic ambient track “Solitary,” which stretches the original to over 10 minutes, introduces a beat, and transforms it into an electronic dance journey that gradually builds in intensity. “Chaldean Oracle,” a collaboration between RIDE bandmate STEVE QUERALT and writer MICHAEL SMITH, is a 2023 Detroit dub techno arrangement with the vocals removed. This luxurious compilation brings together four tracks that fans had long hoped would be released on vinyl individually! This is a one-time pressing with no future reissues.
