VAIN-do presents DJ MIX ARCHIVE, Volume 3: A DJ mix showcasing the sharp sensibilities of Takeshi Kouzuki, who runs “Zipangu Records”—a record store in Shioya, Hyogo Prefecture that embodies a unique aesthetic—while continuing his musical activities.


Takeshi Kouzuki

A DJ and producer based in Kobe. He began DJing around 1994 while working as a hairstylist.
He cultivated a musical perspective that spans new wave, industrial, and Chicago house.
In 2008, he released “Japanese Rhythms” via MATHEMATATICS in Chicago. He develops a unique sound centered on warm grooves created by vintage synthesizers and drum machines, combined with minimalist structural beauty.
In 2024, he released the “Electric Language EP” via 〈Alley Version〉.
