When the bar's about to close, the streets are wet with neon, and somebody catches the first cab home, Swing Duke slips out four new tracks on Apparel Music. Returning to the label with what is surely his most nocturnal EP yet, Nocturnal Tales lands on October 16, 2026: four scenes, one city, endless bass. "Rainy Evening in the Lounge" opens with rain on concrete, the hum of the city in the background, sound design before a single beat drops. Then the room warms up: cool, laid-back house, a rhythm section with real weight behind it, keys looping with charisma, and a saxophone that keeps circling back. "City Lights & Silk" keeps things mellow but never soft. This is house with its spine straight. The bassline is the pillar holding the whole track together, steady while everything else moves around it. "Saint Germain After Midnight" is the after-hours chapter, reverb-soaked, with an airy trumpet drifting through a bassline that owns the night. This is what 3 a.m. feels like. "The Last Negroni" is about crisp snaps and female vocals wrapped in reverb, building an atmosphere that's vibrant without ever losing its cool. Through all four tracks, one character never leaves the room: the bass. It's the structural backbone of the whole EP, present, confident, holding every track together with that unmistakable cool.
