Sonoda, Tomemitsu, and Zhao each hold distinct spaces in the LA indie music scene. Sonoda, named one of the LA's hardest working bands of 2019 by Oh My Rockness, create "rich textures and sedative charm [...] heavily influenced by the atmospheric soundscapes of modern indie pioneers, such as Beach House and Broadcast," according to Riffs & Rhymes. Tomemitsu, also a member of indie outfit So Many Wizards, has gained a worldwide audience since "In Dreams" and "Runaway" from his debut album "m_o_d_e_s" were featured on cult series High Maintenance. Zhao, meanwhile, "blends timeless dance components with an understated approach, says Week in Pop.
The three collaborated (along with contributions from Jett Kwong on guzheng) on the score for Confluence, a short documentary directed by ETA filmed during Asian Pacific American Heritage Month for a series entitled PHASE, curated by moonroom in 2019.
