Three, smooth-stepping, upward inclining chords take us into "Open Up", a wonderful cut from a typically hard-to-track-down LP, the excellent "White as Snow" by James Felix. The record was originally released in the early 80's on Christian Label Light Records (along with Kristle Murden's "I Can't Let Go" which you'll find on The Ladies Of TSTD 2). The whole recording is a sophisticated affair, featuring incredible production and gospel-tinged arrangements, topped by soulful vocals from the man himself. It won't surprise you to learn that both James Felix and Kristle Murden emerged from the camp of living vocal legend of Andrae Crouch. Thus, "White As Snow" was completed with excellent musicians in the CCM (Christian contemporary music, just so you know) field of those days. As ever, music proves God moves in mysteriously smooth ways...
