Azzurro 80’s new EP is a journey into the Italian Eighties, reimagined and filtered through our film and television past. The Rome-based composer and producer re-creates soft, smooth and dreamy electronic soundscapes inspired by the eighties’ pop and media culture.
In the composition process behind the EP, sounds are somewhat like references – richiami sonori (sonic references) to chords, to melodic lines, or to compositional solutions. And the sum of all this turns into these tracks. "Un pomeriggio di novembre" (An Afternoon in November) evokes a sense of joy that is as sweet, delicate and simple as an afternoon snack in autumn. "Maresco" (Marine) is like a sailing trip on the sea, with the wind sometimes strong and other times meek. "La sciarpa" is a mixture of sounds that interweave and chase each other, like colours in the pattern of a warm scarf.
