DRIPKISS hails from Northern Virginia. She started pursuing music as a teenager, spinning at parties and and leading freestyle cyphers at house shows. After a stint in a folk-punk band, she decided to focus her energy on a solo project and DRIPKISS was born. Described as cheerleader hip-hop, punk rap, and cloud trap, DRIPKISS is always blending styles to create a raw, compelling sound. She strives to create not only a vibe, but an entire drippy, trippy world for her listeners to get lost in. She is influenced by by her experiences as a queer woman and constantly challenges the notion of gender norms and sexuality. Her music also addresses substance abuse, mental health and heartbreak. Most of her career has been spent in Los Angeles, where she played venues such as The Study, Silverlake Lounge, The Lost Knight, The Rose and headlined her own record release party at Now Boarding in West Hollywood. Since relocating to the east coast, DRIPKISS has been busy DJing at nightclubs and finishing her first full-length album, "bad lil thing" dropping via Athame Records in November.

"Bad lil thing" is a stark contrast to the last project from DRIPKISS, "ballerina." Released in 2016, "ballerina." made waves with her listeners and established DRIPKISS as a independent artist who can hold her own in the often chaotic hip-hop scene. She talked about her struggles to keep her life in focus and maintain her graces despite pressure from the industry to mold herself into something she's not, i.e. a balancing act. "Bad lil thing," a culmination of a year of hard work and personal hardship/triumph, tells the second chapter of this narrative. DRIPKISS makes herself even more vulnerable for this project, admitting to facts she's not necessarily proud of i.e. the track "lying to my friends" and "bath salts," which contains the hook, "I started using again/ I started losing my friends/ I stopped trusting myself/ I stopped making amends." By embracing the "bad" and the "ugly," DRIPKISS is able to find catharsis and comfort in admitting she is not perfect. While moving back and forth between Los Angeles and the DC metro area, DRIPKISS found herself lost in the shuffle and unsure of what her next step would be. The balancing act is over and she has accepted her reality for what it is. There is also a tongue-in-cheek element to this project, as "bad lil thing" refers to her delight in sexual endeavors and having multiple lovers. Much of this project was recorded in a closet in her childhood home, and thus has a special place in her heart. DRIPKISS hopes this release will establish her as not only an artist, but a storyteller willing to go to dark places. "Bad lil thing" is, in many ways, a sonic diary of her last year.
