Since the Second World War music from Düsseldorf had a lasting influence on many artists at nationally and abroad. The impulses were particularly influential for electronic music. It was here that the technique of sampling was co-founded, which puts already finished sound recordings, such as those from field recordings, into a new musical context and has become indispensable in today's music productions. The INDUS TRIAL project brings current Düsseldorf musicians together with local industrial companies. The latter open their factory gates and allow the creatives to be inspired by the sounds of their machines. In this way, the foundations for 15 new tracks from different genres were created at eight industrial locations. The sounds of the factory halls form the basis for 'New Düsseldorf Industrial Music', which is documented on this sampler. To be continued …
