It's been one year since what turned out as 2023 biggest EP on KANN. Fibre Optixx now continues a series of razor-sharp rhythm tracks with his third offering for the label called "Crystalline". Drawing influences spanning from conspiracy theory instagram reels, Cronenberg style mutant horror, and the lineage of dance music. He works these references into a unique tale on the frameworks of house and techno - glistening in a mystic blend of bleeps and clanging 4 to the floor rhythms. "What Is Love" is an homage to a 90s New York house classic followed by "Texas Chainsaw" as love letter to the aforementioned horror film by Tobe Hooper, using slices of the movie to create an evil textural hue and pulsating industrial rhythms. The third track "Rapture" samples obscure reels about the occurrence of strange sirens that appeared all around the world, culminating into an apocalyptic throbbing groove. Last but not least is Priori's "Dee-Dub" remix of "What Is Love", which reinterprets the track as a dreamlike collage of crunchy percussion and lush pads.
