The first cover of a Jazz Standard recorded by MidnightRoba, Quiet Dawn was written by composer/trumpeter Cal Massey and orignially performed by Cedar Walton. It was then sung by Massey's young daughter Waheeda on Archie Shepp's 1972 album Attica Blues, the very album that inspired the name of the UK band fronted by vocalist Roba El-Essawy. She has come full circle, arriving back at the beginning.
With Deschanel Gordon on keys and David Mrakpor of Blue Lab Beats on bass, Roba produced and sings Quiet Dawn.
