Serial collaborator Tullis Rennie drops his solo debut on Accidental Jnr's Room 2, a new series that's set to explore electronic music outside of the dancefloor. Dub-influenced fragmentary electronic business that touches on Vladislav Delay, Lorenzo Senni and DJ Sprinkles.

Hastings-based artist Rennie is best known for his creative partnerships - he's released with jazz players Matthew Bourne and Graham South (2018's "Muscle Memory") and with Vonnegut Collective and Thomas Adès on last year's "48 Hours". He's also a founder member of Barcelona's Insectotròpics AC collective, and the co-director of Walls On Walls, a community arts organizatoin. So all this sets him in good stead for his first solo collection - a mutated set of electronic experiments that bends recognizable formulae (trance, dub techno, electro) into abstract landscapes.

Opener 'A Remembered Ecstasy' sounds like distant memories of club euphoria, with saccharine synth arpeggios smudged into abstract noise and processed environmental sounds, but 'Gnapback' takes a different turn, diving into a dark basement to flex ruff acid squelches and damaged electroid loops. 'Nore Rock' is our favorite moment, lifting Vladislav Delay's well-worn "Anima" mode and exciting it with neon synths and jazzy electric piano chords.
