nonprivate is the latest alias of Chris Jeffs, most well-known for his work under the name Cylob. Based in Berlin, the project came about from his engagement with that city's experimental scene. First released on a limited edition cassette by underground Spanish label Alku last year, "catastrophic" is now available as a digital download with a short bonus track.
The album was edited down from over seven hours of material based on four audio-visual concerts performed in Berlin in 2010, the first of which was in a freezing warehouse in the middle of winter, with the audience braving temperatures of around minus 5 degrees. The remaining dates took place in the Berghain Kantine, an art gallery and a record shop.
