Makaperkum is a São Vicente, Cabo Verde–born artist (Mindelo, 1974) based in João Pessoa, Paraíba, Brazil for over three decades. His repertoire spans multiple languages and rhythms. DNB ÁFRICA Vol. 2, is scheduled for release on October 31, 2025 on Kaxambu Records. Producer FurmigaDub is a UFPB-trained multi-instrumentalist with a background across orchestral, reggae, metal, brega, samba-rock and coco de roda scenes, and a consistent presence at major Brazilian music/electronic festivals with both DJ and live sets.
“DNB Africa” is the lead single from the forthcoming album, combining Cabo Verdean roots (Sanjão, Coladeira motifs) with contemporary drum & bass and dub-informed production. The track is designed for global dancefloors while retaining Creole identity, offering crossover potential across Dub, Afrobeats, Electronica, Global Bass and Diaspora playlists. A culturally rich fusion rooted in Cabo Verdean tradition, bilingual/national crossover appeal (Cabo Verde x Brazil), and production by a recognized Brazilian multi-instrumentalist and festival performer.
