With the single Hold Up, Brejner & The Teacher inaugurate Apparel Music Breaks (APB), a new catalogue in the Apparel Music universe dedicated to rhythm in its most essential form. We want APB to be defined by a shared language, rooted in breaks, texture, and movement. A space where lo-fi sensibilities, bass pressure, and rhythmic experimentation coexist. A rhythmic framework where emotion emerges through motion. Brejner & The Teacher, longtime friends bonded by a deep appreciation for house, old school jungle, breakbeat, and classic UK garage, embody this vision naturally. Drawing inspiration from foundational figures such as Ray Keith, Foul Play, and Derrick Carter, alongside contemporary voices like Paco Osuna and Proudly People, their sound bridges eras. Their productions are bass-driven, always carrying a sense of lift and forward momentum. Hold Up sets the tone for the catalog with clarity. It feels raw and immediate, like something built around a loop that just made sense and didn't need to be overworked. The breaks are loose, the low end is steady, and everything moves with a natural swing. As the first entry in the APB series, it establishes the direction: a focus on groove as structure, and on breaks as a living, evolving language.
