Horatio Luna follows "SPICY" with "MALAKIES". The second single from his forthcoming album ACTION REACTION, out on La Sape Records.

Where SPICY announced his return with 70s synth funk, MALAKIES goes deeper and stranger. Built around layered tenor saxophone, the track skips along like a lost Moodymann cut; Funky, live, and just moody enough to keep you guessing. The horns don't so much carry the melody as haunt it, stacking and folding over a groove that sits right at the intersection of jazz instinct and house floor logic.
It's the second piece of a picture that's coming into focus: ACTION REACTION is Horatio reckoning with duality - jazz and house, structure and spontaneity, composition and living. Recorded across two Melbourne studios between 2022 and 2025, the album is warmer and more luminous than anything in his back catalogue, trading the darker textures of Yes Doctor for crystalline synths and funk-driven compositions that breathe.

MALAKIES suggests ACTION REACTION has more than one mode. And Horatio Luna is in no rush to show all his cards.
