“Baba Fen” is the title track and first single from Onsy’s upcoming album, out in late May. It introduces a more immediate, stripped-back sound — rooted in minimal trap and shaped through fast, collaborative exchanges.
The album took form through informal back-and-forth between Cairo and Haifa, with collaborators Fara7, Bleng, and Illfeel often recording and returning vocals within hours, without a fixed plan.
Built on heavy 808s, sparse arrangements, and autotune, the record moves fluidly between trap, Egyptian pop, and mahraganat, without settling into any one style. Recorded across home studios using basic setups, it reflects the conditions it was made in: limited resources, slow internet, and whatever energy was available at the time.
Produced by Onsy
Vocals and lyrics by Bleng, Farah, Sakt, and Illfeel
Mixed by Onsy
Mastered by Rashad Becker
Artwork by Kareem Lotfy
