Soft Cou is the pseudonym of producer & singer songwriter Courtney Herrenberg. Following her debut album Horseshoe released on Presto!? in 2024, she is now coming out with a second, even more evocative release on the label, where she mixes experimental glitch together with pitch dark trip hop moments, IDM and spoken word. Her work intertwines manipulation of samples with complex programming, digital processing and a vulnerable yet bold vocal approach, whispering in your ear and reverberating in your chest.
Erode EP is the bridge between Soft Cou’s debut album Horseshoe and her up and coming second album to be released late 2026. Erode is a six track EP rifting between romantic dissociation coloured with reflections and self-exploration. Intimate yet restrained, unfolding like a hazed transmission from an inner world, histories echo through, falling into the vortex of her complex mind and landing in a video game simulation. Suspended somewhere between vulnerability and performance with elements of melodically intertwined glitch, reminiscent and teeth gritting, an ode to survival. Influences for this EP include Squarepusher, Burial, PJ Harvey and Bjork.
