Junge Eko is the solo project of Swiss musician, composer and performer Catia Lanfranchi. Known through projects such as Kush K, numerous interdisciplinary collaborations and extensive international touring, her practice moves between songwriting, composition, live performance and experimental sound practices. Her collaborations include works with Antonina Nowacka, Tapiwa Svosve, Alex Lázaro, Ciro Vitiello, Violetta Garcia and Hora Lunga, she was part of SHAPE+ (2024/25), recorded a live session for KEXP Seattle and contributed mixes and radio work for platforms including NTS, Kiosk Radio and Retreat Radio. With a background in classical music, including studies in voice, composition and performance, Lanfranchi developed a musical language connecting traditional songwriting with experimental sound design, improvisation and contemporary production aesthetics.
Her new album 'Pierced (June17th)' forthcoming in September on Warm Winters Ltd. showcases the breadth of her creative practice, spanning from alt rock to jazz-infused ambient pieces and organ-led compositions. "June17th", the first single featuring Tapiwa Svosve, arrives - symbolically - on June17th.
