Orchestra Mambo International is a UK Latin jazz and mambo orchestra co‑founded by trombonist and bandleader Jonny Enright and DJ Lubi, featuring a cross‑generational, international line‑up. Released on Loft Recordings three days ahead of the debut album ¡Apúntalo!, “Flauta Pa’ Ti” is the album’s focus track, an original composition by Jonathan Enright and Jimmy Le Messurier featuring special guest flautist Chip Wickham (Gondwana Records), following previous releases that have received support from Gilles Peterson, Cerys Matthews and Craig Charles on BBC 6 Music, Jamie Cullum on BBC Radio 2 and Soweto Kinch on BBC Radio 3, alongside live appearances including Glastonbury Festival 2025.
“Flauta Pa’ Ti” is an up-tempo 200 BPM pachanga/charanga workout with Spanish unison coro ensemble vocals, nodding towards Típica 73, Conjunto Libre and early Johnny Pacheco. Wickham’s flute lines sit over driving piano montuno and bass tumbao, punchy horn writing and propulsive timbales, with a driving piano solo from Andrzej Baranek that adds further momentum to the arrangement.
