A phenomenal album in which nearly all 10 tracks—including “Bad,” “The Way You Make Me Feel,” “Liberian Girl,” “Man in the Mirror,” “Dirty Diana,” and “Smooth Criminal”—were No. 1 hits. With its groundbreaking sound production, Michael’s vocals, performance, and presence, and Quincy Jones’s flawless coordination, this 1987 masterpiece—which decisively shattered the barriers between black music, disco, and popular music—is a landmark in music history.
