A reissue of the recordings by "NORMAL BRAIN," the sound project of Yukio Fujimoto — an artist active both in Japan and abroad who creates sound objects and installations that draw attention to the "sounds" of everyday life, and who has exhibited with Takehisa Kosugi, the foremost figure in Japanese experimental music/sound art, and is also known as one of Japan's leading Duchampians. The round, fat sound of the rhythm box brings a spine-tingling sense of the era's uniquely dark underground. The voice of the Speak & Spell — the machine made famous by Kraftwerk and revered by toy-modding circuit benders — also fits in perfectly. Side A is rhythm-driven underground pop, while Side B delivers roughly 20 minutes of superb experimental drone. A most welcome reissue that record collectors have long been hunting for.
