A long-awaited reissue of this dub techno classic by “MERV,” a Danish collective of musical artisans that started out as a four-piece band when this track was written and now operates as a unit! The title track, “Melted Vein” (sample 1), is over 11 minutes long and lulls you into a trance with its heavy bass that bounces in sync with the kick drum and hypnotic synth refrains. It’s paired with “Dust” (sample 2), where damp chords and bouncy drums blend together in an airy, open arrangement. The original release still commands high prices on the secondary market—don’t miss this opportunity. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
