Following the introspective *Mi specchio e rifletto* (2020) and the folk album *Canti di guerra, di lavoro e d’amore* (2022)—a collaboration with Deborah Walker—this new release is a dazzling, light-filled album unlike anything he has done before. The cover of Milton Nascimento’s “River Phoenix” (sample_2)—dedicated to the beautiful actor River Phoenix, who passed away at a young age—is magnificent; it has been reimagined from the original’s saudade-filled sound into a fantastical, hope-filled world. The closing track, “Distratta (reprise)” (sample_3)—which brings the album to a close with the Piccolo Coro Angelico children’s choir, with whom she has worked for over 15 years—is also deeply moving. This work depicts the changes in life and the light that shines during times of transition. It reminded me of the movie *Suddenly Feeling Unwell*, which I saw recently.
