From last year’s mini-album *Ryokan*, the single features “Umi”—a dreamy, trippy summer track that melts away the sweltering heat—and its dub version, “Dubmi”!

mess/age (Message) is a duo consisting of Khan Brown and OHHKI—formed in Kyoto and still fresh in our memories for releasing a full-length album on the prestigious U.S. label PPU. Known for their lo-fi home-recording style—using old Casio keyboards and karaoke machines to dredge up lyricism buried deep in the recesses of memory—they’ve released “Umi” and “Dubmi” as a 7-inch single from their mini-album *Ryokan*, originally released on cassette last year. These are trip-like summer tunes—a kind of summer greeting—that exude a somewhat fantastical mood, reminiscent of a daydream brought on by the sweltering heat of midsummer.
