A reissue series from SUNSHINE SOUND, the acetate system used in the 1970s by NYC DJs to bring in tracks on open-reel tape and have small quantities pressed specifically for DJs. “Can’t Stop Talking” by Genie Brown, drawn from the private acetate-only archive of Walter Gibbons, the pioneer of disco remixes.

Enjoy a wonderful and surprising disco medley carefully remastered with Love from Walter Gibbons personal collection. A mid 70s creation that Walter further embellished with live overlays and fx for his house parties around 1980. Rough and Raw around the edges, this could only be made by a human. Even with today's technologies computers cannot create the vibe and spirit that Walter infused into this 13 minute long medley.

According to Discogs, the acetate of Walter Gibbons’ “Can’t Stop Talking” was produced by MELTING POT—an acetate label that preceded Sunshine Sound—and dates from 1973 or 1974. It features a track by female soul singer and reportedly features Koke from the funk band Tribe—also produced by Dee Irvin—and is said to be one of the very earliest compilation acetates released by Walter on his own acetate label. While it’s unclear whether this reissue—said to be remastered from Walter Gibbons’ unreleased archives—is identical to the Meltin’ Pot version, it features a 13-minute tape-edited medley that uses effects to transform the tracks into disco tools. It’s a captivating record not only for fans of Walter Gibbons but also for anyone who enjoys raw disco grooves, and while it has its rough edges, that’s all part of its charm.
