IKOQWE is a new project from DJ Mpula and Pedro Coquenão, members of Lisbon, Portugal's BATIDA, who carry on the lineage of Angola's African electro beats, KUDURO.
Track List
The IKOQWE album, from DJ Mpula — one half of BATIDA, evolving out of KUDURO — is now in stock. More African, with a heavy tribal streak in the beats and rhythms. Bass. Dope-step. A different current from PRINCIPE, but this corner of the scene is turning out some seriously unique sounds too. (Original Japanese text by Saito)
