クリス・コルダに関しては、個人的には未知の人でしたが サンプルを聴いて「近年稀に興奮したテクノアルバム」だと思い魅せられた一枚で、調べてみたらいろいろ凄すぎる人でした。ヨルバの言葉で"Strange Time"を意味する"Akoko Ajeji"をタイトルに、複雑ではあるけれどランダムではないポリメーターで構成されたコンピューター・サウンド。ジャズ的でありながらその対極で、完全にアルゴリズムを持つ。155,195,040beats(最大素因数19)で、一つの周期(およそ805日かかる)をなすポリメーターで構成された1曲目"Vizyon"は、ハイチの言葉でトランスを意味する。"インフォメーションには、ヨルバやその他の言語からつけられた各曲の言葉の意味と、ポリメーターの周期(最大170万年)と、最大素因数が示されている。" アルバム制作の為に、オープンソースで、MIDIシーケンサーのソフトの開発から始め15年かかったというsaywhatmagでのインタビューも興味深い。音色的にはアナログなアーリーテクノな感触、コンロン・ナンカロウとデトロイト・テクノが出会ったような、難解さよりも、音楽的なプレジャーが溢れ出る素晴らしいルバムです。今年度テクノ必須の一枚。 (サイトウ)
