A new 10-inch (limited to 300 copies) from the maverick ANDREAS O. HIRSCH — known for "Row," a field-recording work documenting the training sessions of a Dutch lifeboat rowing team, and for the masterpiece "Astro Camping," built from explorations of everyday natural-science field recordings (wind, campfires) and electroacoustics using homemade synths and small electronic devices — and also a member of THE KNOB, THE FINGER & THE IT!!! This classic third album, originally released in 2018, is finally repressed after seven years. Back in stock!

This record is a collection of pieces performed on the Carbophone, a homemade electroacoustic instrument built in the summer of 2015 based on the concept of the African thumb piano (kalimba, mbira). Eight tracks in all, grooving in a warm analog atmosphere — uniquely refined, minimal, otherworldly and mysteriously dubby. At times you catch a whiff of Southeast Asia, Indonesia and gamelan; at others, an exotic experimental pop that shares something with the world of The Residents. A one-of-a-kind musical world of modern minimalism and natural science that only ANDREAS O. HIRSCH could create. Includes a download code. Be sure to check out the track list as well.
