Thursday, 2025. Philadelphia. South Philly, to be precise. A basement, to be even more precise. And not just any basement, but the subterranean headquarters of Zillas On Acid.
Which is where Roman Flügel found himself, presumably with good intentions. Some time before that, he had decided to wake Sister Midnight from its slumber.
But rather than simply carrying on where things had left off, a new idea was needed. Enter Sister Midnight Special Products: a new series dedicated to collaborations, chance encounters and other musical situations that deserve to become records.
No grand manifesto, no five-year plan. Just making music with people you like, in places you happen to find yourself, and seeing what happens. Special Product 01 is “Conga Dream,” born from a basement jam with Zillas On Acid and apparently unwilling to behave itself ever since.
Three musical free spirits meet somewhere between the basement, the dancefloor and the more pleasantly confused corners of the mind. Club music is involved, certainly, but functionality has been politely asked to wait outside. Instead: pocketprotector synthesizers, a little E-mu Proteus 3, assorted electronic activity and, as advertised, congas.
The result is less a tool than a small trip. Or perhaps a tool for taking small trips.
Either way, it works.
Zillas On Acid put it like this:
“A basement jam deep beneath the streets of Zilladelphia yields surprising results: pocket protector synths, a dash of E-mu Proteus 3, and yes of course the aforementioned congas.”
And with that, Sister Midnight Special Products is officially open for business.

『2025年木曜日。フィラデルフィア。正確にはサウス・フィリー。さらに正確に言えば、ある地下室だ。それもただの地下室ではなく、「Zillas On Acid」の地下本部である。 ローマン・フリューゲルは、おそらく善意から、その場所に身を置いていた。その少し前、彼は「シスター・ミッドナイト」を眠りから目覚めさせることを決めていた。 しかし、単に以前の続きを進めるのではなく、新たなアイデアが必要だった。そこで登場したのが「シスター・ミッドナイト・スペシャル・プロダクツ」だ。これは、コラボレーションや偶然の出会い、そしてレコードとして残す価値のあるその他の音楽的状況に特化した新シリーズである。 大仰なマニフェストも、5カ年計画もない。ただ、気に入った人たちと、たまたまたどり着いた場所で音楽を作り、何が起こるか見てみるだけだ。「スペシャル・プロダクト01」は『Conga Dream』。これはZillas On Acidとの地下室でのジャムセッションから生まれ、それ以来、どうやらおとなしくしていられないようだ。 3人の音楽的自由人たちが、地下室とダンスフロア、そして心のより心地よく混沌とした隅々の間にあるどこかで出会う。クラブ・ミュージックが関わっているのは確かだが、実用性には丁寧に「外で待っていて」と頼んでおいた。その代わりに、ポケットプロテクター・シンセサイザー、ちょっとしたE-mu Proteus 3、様々な電子音、そして宣伝通り、コンガが登場する。 その結果生まれたものは、ツールというよりは小さなトリップだ。あるいは、小さなトリップを楽しむためのツールなのかもしれない。 いずれにせよ、これは機能している。 Zillas On Acidは次のように述べている： 「ジラデリアの街路の遥か地下深くにある地下室でのジャムセッションが、驚くべき結果を生み出した。ポケットプロテクター・シンセ、ほんの少しのE-mu Proteus 3、そしてもちろん、前述のコンガだ。」 こうして、『Sister Midnight Special Products』は正式に営業を開始した。 夢を見続けよう。 マスタリング：Mike Grinser（Man Made Mastering）。 アートワーク：Saskia Randt。 (インフォメーションより)』
