n_drwej, the young artist moving between Bratislava and Prague, fuses a wide spectrum of subcultural influences on his debut release. Carving his own path through muddy tekno field visions, the filthy edges of harsh noise hell, and ever-present psychedelic haze, his sound is uncompromising, heavy, and acid-soaked. Textures take the front seat, filling out abrasive beats that can make you move just as easily as they can pin you to the floor.
The record sounds like Screamadelica by Primal Scream having a bad trip. On his first EP, on_drwej also fully showcases his instinct for composition and songwriting, honed during his years playing guitar in his former band Krstní Otcovia.
Balancing noise experimentation with radio-friendly songwriting structures and concise form, the result feels as fresh and immediate as his own arrival on the scene.
