Handy's fourth release from Diagonal Records, follows up on It's Complicated But I'm Easy, back in 2023. This release will be Handy's first full-length vocal EP.

Hard To Swallow provides a deeper diagnosis into the motives, behaviours and thinking of the Handy character, reaching into themes of repressed sexuality, repetitive/ compulsive behaviours, isolation and loneliness. Musically, the record leans into a more playful, mechanical sound that punctuates the frivolity and innocence of the lyrics, often chasing after or meandering in front of Handy's voice. The delivery is dry, unabashed and direct, offering no real place for Handy to hide, who instead uses lyrical and sonic mischief to run rings around the listener in an attempt to distract from the true frustration he feels.
