Atlanta's BYRON THE AQUARIUS released on SOUND SIGNATURE, and here comes STEFAN RINGER, who's also connected to KAI ALCE!
REKchampa aka STEFAN RINGER. BYRON THE AQUARIUS's release on 〈SOUND SIGNATURE〉 was great, but this guy is superb too. He debuted as STEFAN RINGER on KAI ALCÉ's 〈NDATL Muzik〉, has released on 〈HOW TO KILL〉 — home to Detroit ghetto heads SHADY P and MARSHALL APPLEWHITE — and has been involved with the illegal edit label 〈THE LOVE BELOW〉. Through KAI ALCÉ he also seems to work with BYRON THE AQUARIUS; the details of the Atlanta–Detroit connection aren't clear to me, but both of them are putting out exactly the kind of house music sound we most want to push right now. Supple US black music feel, hardware work, dub, and exquisite mixing that yields richly expressive tones. A release on PPU is a bit of a surprise, but the sound makes total sense. Recommended.
