Starting with “SOONDIE” alongside Seiji Ukai and SAKAN, SHABUSHUABU has made his mark on the Kansai scene through various projects, including the unit 〈Obakejaa〉 with OORUTAICHI, GULSHABU with Garupepsi, DJ KUMARU with Shinbo☆Tidy Disco—SHABUSHUABU has long been a distinctive presence in the Kansai scene. Now, under the name MeNeM, they’ve re-released two tracks originally released under the SHABUSHUABU moniker, selected from CDs released in 2007 and 2009 on the label 〈KUMARU〉—a collaboration with Tidy Disco—as well as from the E KUMARUE label, a collaboration with Shinbo☆ Tydisco, is releasing a new 7-inch record under the name MeNeM. It features selections from CDs released in 2007 and 2009, along with two tracks originally released under the SHABUSHUABU moniker. The breakbeats featuring the sound of the shamisen, the rumbling basslines, and the unique rhythms are quintessentially SOONDIE. The B-side is also captivating, blending an ancient Japanese flavor, a video game music vibe, an alluring mystery, and a deep, dope vibe.
